Tequila Sunrise with Pomegranate Molasses
This is the first drink recipe I have ever shared on Fresh4Five. I feel like it needs to come with some sort of explanation. Clearly my focus here is on health and real food, and we all know alcohol consumption isn’t exactly good for us. However, I also know that there are many people, myself included, who will likely indulge in a cocktail over this holiday season; doing so in moderation and safely (no driving!). I wanted to share a drink recipe that I feel is pretty *real*; ingredient wise. This recipe could also easily be made *virgin* not adding any alcohol at all.
I used Patron’s Tequila which is made from 100% Agave, my recipe for Homemade Pomegranate Molasses, sparkling water, fresh orange slices and pomegranate seeds for garnish.
I really enjoyed it myself. I am the only one who tested it as my hubby doesn’t like Tequila, but it was a nice balance between bitter and sweet.
Once it is stirred it has a beautiful ruby red colour.
As part of my Homemade for the Holidays Series, I thought I would show you a great way to package this as a hostess gift. I paired a small bottle of the Homemade Pomegranate Molasses with some really cute holiday coasters. Attach a recipe card with directions for this cocktail and you are set. You could also give a bottle of Tequila and attach a little bottle of Pomegranate Molasses. Adding the homemade touch just makes a bottle of booze seem that much more thoughtful.

I’m with you–it can’t hurt to throw healthy stuff in with the alcohol. Pomegranate molasses sounds intriguing too. Thanks for posting!
Would pomegranate grenadine work as well as the molasses for this?
I would think so! I is just fun to make your own. Be sure the ingredients are real, and made in an allergen free facility
My whole clan enjoyed the Tequila Sunrise with Pomegranate Molasses at our Christmas Eve party–very festive and colorful!
awesome! Thank you so much for the feedback! I am glad everyone liked it
